While government and corporate initiatives are in place to assist this community, too often these efforts fall short. Our goal at Gray Cardinal is to bring access to transformative financing to the underserved veteran business community.

Gray Cardinal seeks to invest in lower middle market Veteran-Owned and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SD/VOSB) with stable government contracts.

As one of the only SD/VOSB certified Private Equity Firms, GC is capable of investing in a large pool of companies previously unavailable to traditional PE firms due to lack of status.  This provides the opportunity for attractive returns as well as the ability to make a real impact on a segment of the Small Business market that has been historically underserved by traditional financing sources.

Investment Criteria.

Gray Cardinal is actively seeking companies that meet our criteria. While not exhaustive, we do seek to remain agile and responsive to real opportunities outside our guidelines.

 

  • Revenue of $1M+ with industry competitive margins

  • Qualifying as “Small Business” according to SBA NAICS based size standards

  • Industry Agnostic; focus on opportunities in high growth verticals with strong government demand

  • Strong customer base with existing government contracts or opportunities to bid

  • Skilled management team willing to continue operating through ownership transitions

  • Sufficient operating history to meet NAICS based government contracting minimum qualifications

  • SD/VOSB enterprise or show strong potential to benefit from status
